It’s a great moment of pride for Delhi Fashion club and the people of North East, especially for the people of Nagaland. A young lady named “Wijaidin Pamai” becomes the first model from North East to walk at International Fashion Week Goa.
Wijaidin Pamai belongs to Zeliang community from Jalukie Town, Peren district of Nagaland, presently residing in New Delhi pursuing her dreams of Fashion and Modelling. She has multi-talented personality with talents of sketching, designing, who aspire to promote North East culture through designs and paintings in future. She is well connected with people of both states manipur and nagaland.
At International Fashion Week, Pamai walked for FDCI senior designer, Sonia Jetleey who is working on promotion of silk Chanderi fabric and handlooms and gen-next designer Omender Gautam who made beach wear with touch of Khadi and Lycra to make Khadi more youthful. During Asian Designer Week she walked for Celebrity designer Robert Naorem along with showstopper Actress soma laishram.
The show was presented by Delhi Fashion Club (DFC) to promote Khadi and handlooms to help weavers get highlighted. Prior to this event, DFC also presented show with Manipur celebrity designer Robert Naorem and celebrity actress soma Laishram at Asian Designer Week.
Wijaidin Pamai have walked Asian Designer Week , International Trade Fair in Delhi, International Fashion Week Goa and walked many local community tribal shows too where she have walked for handloom designers majorly promoting culture, fashion and art. During her visit to Goa for International Fashion Week, she did a traditional Naga handloom shoot to promote her culture and art from North East.
